    Edith O. Swanson , 90, of 152 Brighton St., formerly of Waterman Avenue, Cranston, died Monday at Symmes Hospital in Arlington, Mass. She was the widow of John E. Swanson .

    Born in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late Knute M. and Christina E. (Ek) Lundquist. She lived in Cranston many years, and lived in Belmont since 1979.

    Mrs. Swanson was a secretary for the traffic manager of the O'Bannon Corp. in West Barrington for several years before retiring.

    She attended Bryant & Stratton, now Bryant College. She was a member of the Church of the Redeemer in Providence, and a former member that church's altar guild.

    She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Janice Post, with whom she lived; two sons, the Rev. Edward I. Swanson of Potomac, Md., and Robert M. Swanson of Plymouth, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Vandall of Cumberland; a stepson, John J. Swanson of Woonsocket, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

    The funeral service was held Saturday at the Church of the Redeemer, 655 Hope St., Providence. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Pawtucket.
