Baptisms, Parish of São Brás, Arco da Calheta, Calheta. Number 45, 1871. Extract translated from Portuguese: On the fourteenth of May of the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy one, in this church of São Bráz of Arco da Calheta, County of Calheta, Diocese of Funchal, I have solemnly baptised an individual of the female gender who I have christened as Ludevina, who was born in this village at six in the evening of the fifth day of the same month and year. Legitimate daughter (first of this name) of Francisco da Silva, farmer, and Rosa de Jesus, housewife, born in this village where they were married, and parishioners and residents at Pinheiro. Granddaughter on her father's side of Antonio da Silva das Fontes and Isabel de Jesus, and on her mother's side of Antonio Fernandes and Anna de Jesus. The godfather was Joáo Gonsalves, unmarried farmer and resident of Pinheiro. And for the record I executed this certificate in duplicate which, after being read and confirmed was signed by me but not by the Godfather, who cannot write. Era ut Supra.
